Hutham Sulaiman Al-Olayan is a prominent Saudi businesswoman who chairs the Board of Directors of the Olayan Group.

Hutham Sulaiman Al-Olayan is a prominent Saudi businesswoman who chairs the Board of Directors of the Olayan Group and has been a director of Morgan Stanley since 2006.

For over 30 years, she headed Olayan US and its US subsidiaries’ investment activity in the Americas until retiring in January 2018.

Ms. Hutham is a Peter J. Peterson Institute for International Economics Board of Directors member, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre Board of Directors, the Brookfield Asset Management Board of Directors, and General Atlantic’s Executive Advisory Board.

 

Hutham Al-Olayan Upbringing and Educational Attainment

Ms Hutham was born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from American University and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University.

She started her career in investment and banking. Furthermore, she is one of the most prominent businesswomen in the Arabian Gulf, where she controls several businesses and investment projects.

 

Hutham Al-Olayan’s Positions

She has held various jobs, the most notable of which has been President and CEO of the American division of the Olayan Company since 1995. In addition, she serves as President and CEO of other Olayan Group operations in the United States.

She also served as the President of “Competrol” Real Estate Limited. Furthermore, she serves on the Institute of International Economics’ Board of Directors.
