According to four primary criteria, Saudi Arabia’s 39 government digital platforms have ranked first in the country’s Digital Experience Maturity Index for 2024.

The four major criteria applied to assess digital government systems are:

Criteria for user focus, operational excellence, innovation and integration, sustainability, and dependability.

The first criterion assesses how well the platform satisfies user demands, and the second criterion concentrates on how well the platform’s processes and procedures work.

The third criterion assesses the platform’s capacity for innovation and integrated services based on contemporary technologies.

Furthermore, the fourth criterion examines how dependable the platform is in delivering its services stably and sustainably while upholding the strictest security and data protection guidelines.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) introduced the “Tawakkalna” platform, an integrated national digital application.

Originally, the platform began as an application to combat the coronavirus pandemic, managing wandering permits during ban periods. The platform has since evolved into a comprehensive digital platform. Likewise, it provides a wide range of electronic government services to citizens, residents, and visitors.

The “Tawakkalna” platform is critical to facilitating Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation following Vision 2030. The platform offers an integrated digital solution that enables consumers to access over 315 government services via a single application.

These services include a wide range of day-to-day necessities, including government processes, health, education, and transportation.

In addition to its basic role of handling permits, the “Tawakkalna” platform now issues official papers (passports, driver’s licences, etc.), rather than providing digital wallet viewing and education services, such as reviewing school certificates.

The platform also plays a vital role in boosting digital security, assisting government agencies, and helping in the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030 goals such as encouraging digital transformation and increasing the Kingdom’s quality of life.

This accomplishment is the result of constant efforts to enhance and develop the platform since its launch. “Tawakkalna” is one of the most significant digital applications in Saudi Arabia. Because it uses these tasks and roles to continuously develop its services to meet the needs of users.

The platform is notable for having won multiple international awards, such as the United Nations Public Service Award. It demonstrates its leadership on both a local and global scale. It further serves as an example of how technology may be utilised to improve government efficiency and benefit society.
