Dr. Nasser Al-Dawood received the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Class, the King Abdulaziz Sash of the Second Class, and other prestigious royal medals during his professional career, which started and continues 25 years ago.

Academic and Career Journey

During this time, he spent many years with King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He established himself as one of the leading figures who helped build the country and shape its future, leaving an indelible national imprint.

The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Dr Nasser Al-Dawood, who has the rank of Minister, started his academic career by earning a Bachelor’s degree from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University’s College of Sharia.

Later, he earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Curricula and Teaching Methods in the field of Education from the University of Colorado in the United States of America. He began working as a teaching assistant in the College of Social Sciences at the same university.

Before taking on the role of Dean of the College of Social Sciences for three years, he served as an assistant professor at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University’s College of Social Sciences, then as Deputy for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and as an associate professor in the Department of Education.

After graduating from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Nasser served for two years as the Riyadh Region’s Director of Education before taking a position as Director General of the Emirate of the Riyadh Region’s Special Office, which was then headed by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the crown prince of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He was chosen to be a member of the Shura Council, tasked with reviewing government agency reports and analysing procedures and regulations, after demonstrating his ability to handle the burden of mission after mission.

A Legacy of Service and Leadership

A royal decree came into effect in 2016 designating Dr Nasser Al-Dawood as a ministerial advisor in the Royal Court. He additionally served as the Emirate of the Riyadh Region’s Undersecretary and, in 2017, as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior. In 2017, he moved up to the position of Deputy Minister of Interior.

Dr. Nasser has received several honours for his numerous national accomplishments during his career. He earned the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Class in 1999, which belongs to people who have significantly benefitted the government or one of its agencies.

He received the King Abdulaziz Sash of the Second Class in 2021, which is given to people who have distinguished themselves by serving the state in extraordinary ways.

Along with being a member of the Supreme Authority for Assisting Victims of Somalia, the Preparatory Committee for the World Conference on the History of King Abdulaziz at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, the Supreme Authority for Assisting Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Supreme Authority for Assisting Victims of Earthquakes in Egypt, and the supervisor of the humanitarian projects set up by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the earthquakes in Egypt, other affiliations include these.

He oversaw the Arabic language instruction program in Washington, D.C. He has participated in regional and global seminars and conferences, and his research and articles have appeared in several scientific magazines and periodicals.

A Role Model of Loyalty and Dedication

Fighting narcotics and stopping their smuggling in the area are top priorities for Dr Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, the deputy minister of interior. Fighting drug trafficking and smuggling is one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 priorities, as he has said on several formal occasions.
