Saudi Culture’s Taste Is Evident at “SIRHA LYON 2025”

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Culture is getting ready to stun the world by taking part in the SIRHA LYON 2025 exhibition. The expo will take place from January 23 to 27 in the centre of Lyon, France, as a global platform showcasing the depth of Saudi culture.

Taste of Saudi Culture: A Culinary Journey Heritage

Under the motto “Taste of Saudi Culture,” visitors will have a delightful journey through the variety of the Kingdom’s rich culinary legacy, from traditional meals to new flavours. This event is a fantastic chance to highlight Saudi cuisine, which embodies the country’s rich heritage and kind hospitality.

The world’s premier food service and hospitality event, SIRHA LYON, brings together all the industry’s participants. Visitors get the chance to examine the newest styles and get ideas from the prospects that exist both now and in the future.

Moreover, the exhibition creates a dynamic and ever-changing atmosphere for five days by combining innovation, unique insights, and information sharing with big contests.

In addition, more than 4,000 companies and exhibitors from almost 40 countries will be present at the exhibition, including a vast array of goods and services tailored to the demands of culinary experts.

Since over half of the attendees are decision-makers, they can investigate a wide range of industries, such as bakeries, confections, cafés and bars, as well as design and decoration, digital solutions, packaging, eco-friendly tableware, kitchenware, wine, and spirits.

Exploring Unique Local Items

The welcoming area, which embodies Saudi hospitality by providing real Saudi coffee, is the first of five interactive zones in the exhibition’s Taste of Saudi Culture pavilion that leads visitors to an exploration of extraordinary local items.

Besides, a range of regional cuisine items, including Maamoul, cane salt, dates, and their derivatives, Saudi coffee, and spices, are available in the exhibitors’ area. To introduce guests to the traditional culinary techniques that define Saudi culture, the events also feature a live cooking zone where Saudi chefs will prepare traditional foods including Kleicha, Luqaimat, and Jareesh.

The journey ends in the Saudi pavilion, which has areas modelled like historic Saudi councils and symbolises the many Kingdom regions, including Al-Ula, Jazan, Taif, and Buraidah. These areas offer the perfect setting for promoting conversation and experience sharing between exhibitors and guests.

The Culinary Arts Commission’s participation in the SIRHA LYON expo is a calculated move to strengthen collaboration and alliances to showcase Saudi cuisine internationally and foster domestic advancements in the food products industry. This helps to improve its calibre and promote it in prestigious international venues.

Additionally, its participation demonstrates the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s dedication to promoting its culinary variety, shaped by its distinctive location, rich history, and varied culture. This program aims to promote Saudi food and increase global awareness as an essential component of the Kingdom’s culture.

SIRHA LYON Expo: A Biennial Hub for Excellence

The Kingdom maintains its position as a prominent participant in the global food and hospitality business by participating in this international dialogue, embracing innovation and modernity in various cuisine trends while highlighting its rich culinary past.

Notably, the SIRHA LYON expo takes place every two years. In 2023, 4,700 exhibitors and businesses from 12 industries presented their goods and services to industry experts.

Amazingly, the first exhibition of its sort in the Middle East took place in October 2024 by the Saudi Culinary Arts Commission, which sponsored the SIRHA exhibition in its Arabic translation.

Organised by SIRHA Food International, a business that specialises in food preparation, presentation, and hospitality services in general, this esteemed occasion was the outcome of a successful collaboration with the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences.

Eventually, three primary sections comprised the exhibition: the first served as a forum for conversation and debate regarding current culinary trends, organised in collaboration with the Culinary Arts Authority; the second featured training sessions led by regional and international chefs. Also, a varied area for exhibitors was provided, and the exhibition’s goals were to promote regional goods and encourage and support the country’s culinary talents.
