This year marks the 48th national day of the Sultanate of Oman, to honour this occasion, the embassy in London celebrates with the presence of the ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Zahir Al-Hinai. The event was held in the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel, on Wednesday the 21st of November and hosted many Arab and international officials, intellects, media personas, British MPs and associates of the Omani and Arab societies in the United Kingdom.
Eminent guests who attended the celebration include the UK’s Minister of State for the MENA region MP Alistair Burt, the UAE ambassador Sulaiman Al Mazroui, Qatar ambassador Yousef Ali Al-Khater, Kuwait ambassador Khaled Al-Duwaisan. Additional guests also include the Turkish ambassador Ümit Yalçın, the Iranian ambassador H.E. Hamid Baeidinejad, the Algerian ambassador Amar Abba and various delegates of other embassies and corporations in London.
The Omani national day is celebrated in order to commemorate the Sultanate’s independence from Portugal’s control.
The reception was marked by hospitality, organization and the large number of guests, as well as the distinguished efforts of the media attaché in the embassy of Oman, Abdullah Al-Abri, who welcomed the journalists and thanked them for their participation in the event.
