The Director of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, received His Excellency the British Minister for International Trade, Mr. Ranil Jayawardena, at the institute’s new Headquarters in Bahrain Bay, in the presence of the British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Mr. Roderick Drummond, to discuss mutual interests and explore areas of collaboration between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom in the fields of education and training.
During his visit, the BIBF team presented a comprehensive overview of the various training opportunities and development initiatives offered at the BIBF in the fields of Banking, Finance, Islamic Finance, Insurance, Digital Transformation, Project Management, Anti-Money Laundering, Sustainable Development, Leadership, and other trending topics and emerging areas of business.
The Director welcomed the British Minister for International Trade, stressing the growing cooperation between Bahrain and the UK, especially in the areas of academic and vocational training, pointing out the institute’s deep-rooted ties with prestigious UK universities – such as Bangor University, University of London and the University of Strathclyde.
On his part, His Excellency, the British Minister for International Trade, Mr. Ranil Jayawardena, stated, “As a leading training and education provider in the region, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is a natural partner for Britain’s prestigious university sector. It was a pleasure to visit BIBF’s new campus and see the extensive collaboration between our two countries, as well as the deep-rooted relationships with industry that the institute has developed.”
Mr. Ranil Jayawardena took a tour of the new building to see the various facilities available and the educational infrastructure that offers students the best training and educational environment.
