The Saudi Red Sea Authority emerged three years ago from the kingdom’s Ministry of Tourism. Jeddah: The Red Sea’s Bride
Jeddah, one of the most notable cities in the Kingdom, is located on the Red Sea. Its numerous tourist attractions have earned it the nickname “Bride of the Red Sea.” The city’s medieval centre, with its network of lanes, ancient marketplaces, and traditional buildings, is arguably its most significant landmark. However, the Jeddah Corniche provides a contemporary waterfront experience while gazing out at the renowned King Fahd Fountain. 
The huge desert dunes influenced Jeddah’s history and culture. The dunes are overflowing with unexpected and thrilling chances, taking guests into the heart of the desert. Jeddah also has various historical museums, including the Abdul Raouf Khalil Museum and the Khuzam Palace Museum.
Covering 28,000 square kilometres, the captivating Red Sea location runs along the western coast of the Kingdom, flanking Jeddah to the north and south. Over 90 islands, a collection of lands and lakes, and immaculate beaches are all part of it. A Bold Strategy Under Vision 2030
In addition to being a mystical location that draws tourists, the Red Sea region has undiscovered historical and cultural hidden gems. The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has so created a thorough strategy to invest in the area, which it has dubbed a “Red Sea Destination.”
Around 50 resorts with 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential buildings will be part of the concept when all phases are finished in 2030. 
The strategy intends to make the Red Sea region one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Kingdom by showcasing its captivating natural assets and providing visitors with experiences that are unmatched and thrilling. Travel in the context of Vision 2030
As part of Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has succeeded in reaching its target of over 100 million tourists by 2023. The 2025 budget, however, calls for 127 million visitors nationwide, with SAR 346.6 billion spent on tourism. In comparison to the 2030 target, this is a 27 million increase.
According to a United Nations Tourism Organisation report, Saudi Arabia ranked third globally in 2024 for the highest growth rate in foreign visitor arrivals during the first nine months of the year, a 61% increase from 2019.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia rose 15 spots to 12th place in the world rankings of nations based on foreign visitor expenditure in 2023 compared to 2019. In comparison to the same period in 2019, it also led the G20 in visitor arrivals throughout the first seven months of 2024. Saudi Arabia has been successful in raising the tourist sector’s GDP contribution from 3% to 5% since 2016, intending to reach 10% by 2030.
