Red Sea Global

A key component of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives to diversify its economy and advance a sustainable tourism industry is the Red Sea Global Company (RSG), a division of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). In addition, the company is spearheading the development of two innovative tourism destinations as part of its expanding portfolio: Amaala, which will likely open to tourists in 2025, and the Red Sea, which started to welcome visitors in 2023.

Likewise, “Malaz Thuwal,” a new exclusive destination that the company introduced in 2024, strengthened its standing as a supplier of a variety of tourism experiences along the Red Sea coast. In a recent announcement, the company unveiled the Laheq Island project, a posh residential neighbourhood situated on an island in the Red Sea. This project introduces the concept of island living in the Kingdom. After a successful first phase of expansion that included the operation of five luxury hotels and an international airport with scheduled flights, the new phase will likely open in 2028.

Eventually, with a broad range of projects ranging from Laheq Island to the Nammos Resort AMAALA and beyond, the Red Sea Global Company aims to rethink sustainable development. It highlights how responsible development can improve communities, boost tourism and the economy, and protect the environment all at once.
