Phases in the Jeddah Tower Implementation Process
The implementation of the Jeddah Tower project began in 2009 at the Jeddah Economic Company Ltd (JEC) initiative, a joint venture between Kingdom Holding Company, Abrar Holding Company, Jeddah Castle Company, and Saudi Binladin Group.
There were two phases to the project:
- The first phase, which takes about 1.5 square kilometres, entails building the centrepiece tower and related infrastructure.
2014 saw the completion of the foundation’s tower, and the Saudi Binladin Group, a contractor, completed one-third of the superstructure’s construction in 2017. This phase is anticipated to conclude in 2024.
- The second phase involves developing the tower’s surrounding neighbourhood, which comprises residential, business, entertainment, cultural, and sports developments spanning 5.3 square kilometres.
Contractors have until the end of February 2024 to submit proposals for a contract to finish this phase.
