The Saudi Businesswoman Reem Al-Suwayq

Reem Al-Suwayq is a Saudi entrepreneur. Since 2008, she has founded and served as general manager of the Advanced Rehabilitation Centre. She was also a founder member of the website “iRehab.”

Reem is a certified physical therapist with a 15-year background in treating children with physical disabilities. She served as the Chief Executive Officer of the iRehab website from 2015 to 2016.

Reem Al-Suwayq Academic Achievements and Professional Career

Reem Al-Suwayq graduated from King Saud University in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy in 1995. She later went on to get a master’s degree in business administration from the American University of Cairo in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2015.

Furthermore, she was interested in the rehabilitation of children with motor deficits in general, as she obtained several training courses in this field, in addition to the field of early intervention. Her experience of more than 15 years helped her in her entrepreneurial journey.

Reem took part in a space suit intense rehabilitation course, one of the training programmes Isabella Cocciellini gave her. The first version of this kind of care was created in 2008.

This treatment involves using a prosthesis consisting of many pieces connected by elastic rubber bands. Patients with neurological disorders may begin administering it, starting from two and a half years old.

iRehab Website

Reem contributed to the creation of the “iRehab” website, which assists patients with motor deficits and makes it easier for parents to consult and communicate with specialists remotely.

It also offers 3D visual workouts, support groups, and an experience exchange. Noteworthy is the fact that Reem was its CEO in 2015 and 2016.
