King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre operates on the principle of being a pre-eminent hub for relief and humanitarian work.
Moreover, it continues its efforts to assist displaced and disadvantaged families in Sudan, Yemen, and Lebanon by providing food and medical assistance.
King Salman Humanitarian Aid Centre Assistance
Three countries have received humanitarian aid:
Sudan Aid
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been distributing 600 shelter bags and 600 personal care bags to 3,450 people in the Damazin locality of Blue Nile State over the past few days.
Additionally, the centre provided 1,403 people with 244 shelter bags and personal hygiene supplies to the poorest and displaced families in the Port Sudan neighbourhood of the Red Sea State.
Yemen Aid
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre proceeded to provide food baskets in the districts of Hadhramaut Governorate as part of the life-saving food aid initiative for Yemen’s impacted populations for the year 2023/2024, helping 25,676 people.
Along with 891 food baskets in the Thamud District of Hadhramaut Governorate, the centre also delivered 2,539 food baskets in Al-Khab and Al-Sha’af District in Al-Jawf Governorate, helping 6,237 persons.
Likewise, the Center’s persistent efforts to try to give basic food supplies to the most vulnerable and needy families and to lessen the suffering of the impacted people in Yemen include the life-saving food assistance initiative.
Nine governorates in Yemen are the focus of this project: “Hadramaut, Al-Mahra, Socotra, Ma’rib, Al-Jawf, Shabwa, Hajjah, Saada, and Al-Hudaydah.”
Lebanon Aid
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre received 2,396 patients in July of last year as part of the project to improve medical services for Syrian refugees and the host community in the town of Bebnine in Akkar Governorate in the Lebanese Republic. They received 5,817 medical services.
Plus, the clinics, pharmacy, lab, nursing, and community and mental health programme divisions received the services.
Notably, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is the patron of the King Salman Centre for Humanitarian Relief and Aid, which was formed in May 2015.
Also, maintaining the Kingdom’s approach to helping those in need worldwide, giving aid without any cruel intentions, and coordinating efforts among the organisations involved in relief work in the Kingdom are among the centre’s most important objectives. Other goals include making sure that aid reaches the right people and isn’t used for other purposes.
Furthermore, The Centre has collaborated with UNICEF since its founding in 2015 to offer humanitarian support to millions of children, particularly those who are in immediate need of help.
The World Health Organisation and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre signed a statement of intent in 2023 to increase their joint commitment to providing $10 million in support of cooperative humanitarian activities in the Gaza Strip.
