Event Details

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language is organising the second Harf Arabic Language Competition, beginning on November 3, 2024.

The competition aims to promote the Arabic language and aid in its learning and development following the goals of the Human Capacity Development Program, which is one of the initiatives to realise the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Moreover, this competition offers a unique platform for non-native Arabic speakers, particularly those studying the language in community centres and Saudi public and private universities' language teaching centres. Furthermore, contestants were able to register for the competition between August 25 and September 15 and submit their applications in three main categories: intermediate for undergraduate students, advanced for graduate students (master's and above), and initial for beginners and high school students. Four Specialised Sections in the “Harf” Competition:
  • Lexical Ability: this refers to the primary category's capacity to gauge their level of language proficiency using terminology and its meanings.
  • Technology and Language: for the intermediate category, emphasising the use of creativity and contemporary technology to create video clips that describe contemporary language platforms or applications.
  • Language and Cultural Communication: intended for intermediate and advanced students, it focuses on improving recitation, narrative, improvisation, and public speaking abilities.
  • Research Paper: in the advanced category, competitors are required to compose a research paper that satisfies the jury's standards.
This programme aims to strengthen the Arabic language's essential position in the Saudi and international academic and cultural communities, while also promoting the linguistic and cultural movement. Read more about The 10th Arab Forum on Geographical Names to Enhance Regional Cooperation
