F1 in Schools, a global education challenge, has revealed that 55 teams from across the globe will compete in the Aramco F1 in Schools 2024 World Finals. The event will take place at Dhahran Expo in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom from November 23 to 26.

This announcement follows months of regional and national tournaments that allowed the world's best teams to qualify for the challenge's worldwide stage. Moreover, this year's Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals will include 55 teams, over 450 children, and their instructors, guaranteeing a broad geographic representation. F1 in Schools operates in more than 60 countries. Notably, a Philippine team will participate for the first time, and Germany will return to defend their current World Champions title, which Recoil Racing from Erlangen hosts.

Working Toward 50/50 

The event aims to increase women's participation in STEM fields by aiming for 50/50 male and female participants in its program. Over one-third of students competing in this year's event are female. Besides, the three-day competition, involving over 140 races, will involve students aged 11-19 designing, analysing, manufacturing, testing, and racing miniature air-powered F1-style cars using professional CAD software. Teams from F1 in Schools will compete for the fastest on-track speed. In addition, teams will be assessed for their technical and project management skills, as well as their overall abilities in marketing, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Furthermore, the Aramco F1 in Schools 2024 World Finals will culminate with a spectacular awards event on Nov. 26, culminating in the much-anticipated announcement of the 2024 World Champions. There are 24 awards available, 10 of which have F1 teams as sponsors. Members of the winning team will receive several benefits, such as the chance to attend University College London on a full scholarship and an exclusive F1 Grand Prix experience.
