Event Details

The National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector organises the Saudi International Marine Exhibition (SIMEC) from February 3-5, 2025.

The Saudi International Marine Exhibition (SIMEC), 2025, discusses international experiences and global expertise in fisheries, aquaculture, and related marine activities and industries. Additionally, the exhibition highlights the value of fisheries, their sustainability, and how they can be used and benefitted to enhance the economic sectors that depend on them. Moreover, it involves all modern goods and state-of-the-art aquaculture technology and facilitates communication with important stakeholders and decision-makers in the fields of aquaculture, fisheries, and related activities and industries. The event is the perfect venue for discussions and trade agreements between importers and exporters of live, chilled and frozen seafood products. Also, it offers a chance to network with professionals and industry experts and form successful alliances with major local and international businesses in the field. Furthermore, the exhibition will feature workshops, a fisheries museum, and events such as Chef of the Seas (seafood cooking competitions) and Master Class (cooking experience with the chef). This is a creative educational platform that provides instant cooking lessons and a workshop taught by expert chefs from the Saudi Chefs Association. Besides, the exhibition's business meeting program facilitates interactions between exhibitors, investors, and local and international CEOs. In 2023, Saudi Arabia's fish output reached 214.6 thousand tonnes, up 80 per cent from 119 thousand tonnes in 2022. The goal is 230 thousand tonnes for 2024. According to estimates, the Kingdom's fish wealth self-sufficiency rate is roughly 53%. The goal is to increase this percentage by improving the quality of fish farming, producing new species that consumers prefer, and preserving the continuity of supply chains associated with marine fisheries within their most sustainable bounds.
