The Riyadh Art Program has announced the artists to participate in the sixth edition of the Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium, titled “From Time to Time: The Joy of the Journey in its Difficulties,” from January 15 to February 8, 2025, and the accompanying exhibition, which will showcase the final sculptures from February 12 to February 24, 2025.

The Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium, launched on March 19, 2019, in Riyadh, aims to enhance artistic practices as a vital part of urban culture and create a community platform for artistic and cultural exchange through community partnership programs, workshops, and dialogue sessions. The Prime Minister, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince are in charge of it. The sixth edition of the Tuwaiq Sculpture Symposium attracted numerous participants throughout the registration period, as shown by the more than 750 applications received from 80 countries worldwide. A panel of experts in sculpture and art reviewed applications, and 30 artists from 23 countries got the chance to construct public art sculptures using Kingdom-sourced stones to enhance the capital's cultural artistic landscape. The sixth edition of the symposium will feature artistic curators Sebastian Betancur Montoya and Dr. Manal Al-Harbi, both renowned for their contributions in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and North Africa. With over two decades of experience, these experts aim to showcase the diverse artistic landscapes of these regions. By encouraging artists from across the world to produce original works of art, the event hopes to stimulate creativity in the capital. Social media and the official website of the Riyadh Art Program will be used to promote the event, which will feature interactive workshops, school visits, discussion panels, and other activities.
